TERMS & DISCLAIMER
Not Legal Advice
Elements of a Crime is a drafting aid. It reviews a submitted incident narrative against the statutory elements of a selected offense and flags what is supported, what is weak, and what is missing. It does not make charging decisions, does not constitute legal advice, and does not replace review by a District Attorney, County Attorney, or other prosecuting authority. Every case should still go through your agency's normal charging and legal review process before submission.
Independent Platform — No Government Affiliation
Elements of a Crime is owned and operated by Twelve Thirty LLC, a privately held company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), any District or County Attorney's office, any Texas law enforcement agency, or any other local, state, or federal government entity.
Intended Use
This site and the linked application are intended as a reference and drafting tool for law enforcement professionals. Using Elements of a Crime — whether through an agency license or an individual account — does not by itself mean your department has authorized, reviewed, or sanctioned its use on official casework. Officers are responsible for confirming their own agency's policy on third-party or AI-assisted tools before relying on this application in connection with an actual case. A separate acknowledgment, specific to submitting a narrative for review, is presented inside the application itself at the point of use.
No Warranty; Limitation of Liability
This site and the Elements of a Crime application are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Twelve Thirty LLC is not liable for charging decisions, case outcomes, or any other consequence arising from reliance on this site's content or the application's output.
Data Handling
How narrative and case data submitted inside the application is stored, retained, and secured is governed by the data handling terms presented within the application itself, which may differ between an agency-licensed account and an individual officer account. This site does not collect case narrative content — it is a public informational site only.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
